ENERGY
DTOCEAN
The DTOcean project is aimed at accelerating the industrial development of ocean energy power generation knowledge, and providing design tools for deploying the first generation of wave and tidal energy converter arrays.
TOPS
The main objective of the proposed project is to develop a generic UCG-CCS site characterisation workflow, and the accompanying technologies, which would address the dilemma faced by the proponents of reactor zone CO2 storage, and offer technological solutions to source sink mismatch issues that are likely to be faced in many coalfields.
DEMOWFLOAT
Consistent with industrial initiative of the SET Plan this project addresses the objective of a grid-connected multi-megawatt fully integrated offshore wind turbine hosted on a floating support structure. The Proposed Project is in the unique position to leverage significant pre-existing financial and intellectual capital invested by the project coordinator, WindPlus in a PILOT unit installation of the WindFloat with a 2MW Vestasturbine.
EERA-DTOC
The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) together with some high-impact industry partners addresses the call proposing an integrated and validated design tool combining the state-of-the-art wake, yield and electrical models available in the consortium, as a plug-in architecture with possibility for third party models. To decrease uncertainties around wind farm wake predictions, a small measurement campaign together with the new data available from the industry partners will enable better tuning, and eventually better modelling of the far-field of wind farm wakes.
BIOFAT
BIOFAT is a microalgae to biofuel Demonstration project with a farming area of 10-ha for microalgae cultivation and a target annual productivity of 100 tons per ha. The project will integrate all the processes from single cell to biofuel production. The production stage will be based on photobioreactors for inocula production, and raceways for production of bulk biomass and induction of oil/starch accumulation, necessary to obtain the biofuel (biodiesel and bioethanol). Carbon dioxide derived from fermentation will be used.
GRID4EU
Grid4EU project is an innovative SmartGrid project proposed by a group of Distribution System Operators (from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden), in close partnership with a set of electricity retailers, manufacturers and research organizations.
Adopting a systemic approach and organized around large-scale demonstrations networks located in six different countries, its structure is built to facilitate dynamic knowledge sharing, technical assistance and review.
The project will run over a 51 month period.
CO2CARE
CO2CARE aims to support the large scale demonstration of CCS technology by addressing the research requirements of CO2 storage site abandonment. It will deliver technologies and procedures for abandonment and post-closure safety, satisfying the regulatory requirements for transfer of responsibility. The project will focus on three key areas: well abandonment and long-term integrity; reservoir management and prediction from closure to the long-term; risk management methodologies for long-term safety.
DEEPWIND
The hypothesis of this project is that a new wind turbine concept developed specifically for offshore application has potentials for better cost efficiency than existing offshore technology.
DIRECTFUEL
The objective of the DirectFuel project is to develop photosynthetic microorganisms that catalyze direct conversion of solar energy and carbon dioxide to engine-ready fuels. A key process target of the proposal is 'direct' in the sense that fuel production should not require destructive extraction and further chemical conversion to generate directly useable transport fuels. To further increase our chances of delivering a functioning process we target only non-toxic end-products that have been demonstrated to function in existing or minimally modified combustion engines.
