IMI's overall goal is to reinvigorate the biopharmaceutical sector in Europe. To reach this objective, a unique collaboration within the pharmaceutical sector will be implemented through the IMI:
For the first time, competitor pharmaceutical companies will collaborate to find solutions in order to overcome the research bottlenecks in the drug development process.
