String Field Theory: Formulation and Analytic Solutions
String theory is currently the most promising candidate for a unified theory of nature. It is very important to understand both perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of the theory. String field theory is a natural framework for defining string theory non-perturbatively. Following the recent analytic progress in this field, I propose to investigate analytical solutions representing lumps and multiple D-branes in open (bosonic and supersymmetric) string field theories.
