Join us for this timely networking reception at the Churchill Hotel on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Our reception will immediately follow the EC Transport Research Team's presentation on Horizon 2020 at the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) 93rd Annual Meeting.
This FREE event aims to promote the sharing of ideas, facilitate key contacts for transatlantic cooperation and stimulate transportation innovation. Researchers, policy makers, industry, diplomats, associations, and academic institutions are encouraged to take advantage of this networking opportunity and real-time dialogue with senior officials of the European Commission.
Participation in the TRB’s Annual Meeting IS NOT a prerequisite for attending the reception, as this is being held off the property of the main conference. The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation is responsible for developing and implementing European policy addressing both current and anticipated societal challenges. The Transport Directorate funds research projects promoting a cleaner, safer, and smarter European transportation system.
Horizon 2020 is a European Union-sponsored funding program aimed at promoting transformational research and innovation, and is open to the U.S. and other nations. A centerpiece of the EU’s smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth agenda, the program was officially launched on December 11th, 2013, with a budget of approximately €80 billion over the next seven years (2014 – 2020).
